Richmond Animal
League, Inc. is Richmond’s oldest non-profit, no-kill humane society. RAL
was founded in 1979 by a group of local good Samaritans concerned about the
hundreds of stray animals in the area. We provide complete care and shelter
to our animals until we can place them in permanent homes.
more about RAL
SOS is a registered 501C(3)
nonprofit rescue organization with a mission to ensure the humane conditions
and treatment of shelter animals and lower the rate of euthanasia in
Virginia’s public shelters.
AARF
is an acronym that stands for
Animal Adoption and Rescue Foundation. A Richmond, Virginia
based, non-profit, all volunteer, non-euthanizing organization
founded in May of 1993. Our goal is to rescue orphaned animals and place
them in loving homes.

Help Save One
is a registered, non profit organization that functions
as an advocate for dogs who are in danger of being gassed. We believe
gassing is a barbaric way to euthanize an innocent animal. You will see it
mentioned several times on this website but I want it in big capitals on our
home page:
IF GASSING IS
INHUMANE FOR CHILD MURDERERS AND SERIAL RAPISTS THEN WHY IS IT ACCEPTABLE
FOR OUR INNOCENT ANIMALS?
Answer is very simple – It is not acceptable and never will
be.

The
International Fund for Animal Welfare works to improve
animal welfare,
prevent animal cruelty and abuse, protect wildlife and provide animal
rescue around the world. From stopping the elephant ivory trade, to
ending the Canadian seal hunt and saving the whales from
extinction, IFAW works to create solutions that benefit both animals and
people.
