The Trout Bum...

  Modified W&M Granger Tapers are very unique in there design
  as they have two flat spots in the taper that build stress and work
  as hinges. I refer to this type of taper as a simi-parabolic taper as
  they can be cast like a progressive taper but if you allow the hinges
  to work properly they will multiply the power   in the cast. The hinges
  are located 1/3 down and 1/3 up the rod, this allows the top hinge
to work in close and both hinges "kick" in on distance casting. This action is similar to a
medium action as far as time laps allowing the hinges to kick in but has a much faster "brisk" recovery rate. This taper is the favorite of many as it applies the best of both worlds in that
it's a very smooth, forgiving taper but a little faster in it's recovery rate making for a peaceful
day on the water. I recommend the two piece configuration with a hollow build internal taper
for top performance. The two piece configuration keeps the ferrule out of the main action of
the rod and the hollow building with an internal taper allows the rod to over come it mass
faster and recover at a much faster rate not to mention the weight reduction... 

I have no set cosmetics for my rods and dress your new wand to your personal tastes with in reason.
I will keep you in the loop as we build your new wand and send photos of the progress, I fine this involvement by the customer is a great way to make them part of the build. All models are offered with standard tips for that model or with a "wet" & "dry" tip to open up a whole new world of all around rod performance...
