The temptation to include all baby pictures when building a web
site, is natural. Baby animals of all kinds strike a cord in our
hearts. The picture above is on of our favorites from a few years
ago. Suzie and Annie were born a couple of weeks apart and
even though they had the same sire, were as different as night
and day.
Anniewas Tabby's first cria
and was purchased by a
farm in Oregon. She is a
white (dilute appy) ball of
fluff.
Suzie is a deep brown
athletic llama who still
lives with us and has
become Ma Sprout's
favorite.
A year and half later, the same two moms each had a daughter
from our former stud, Christmas Jubilee . He was dark brown with
red highlights. The color patterns are always such a surprise.
This is Kuuipo,
Suzie's half sister.
And Krista Jubilee is
Annie's half sister.
Both girls still live with us
A couple of years later,
Krista acquired another
sister, Chloe Blu Belle.
It's been such fun to watch these girls grow and develop
into pets with individual personalities. Sometimes it's
tempting to breed all our adult females so there would be
lots of babies running around the pasture. However,
breeding just to enjoy the babies would be irresponsible
so we only produce what we can take care of or can find
good homes for.
Llamas are herd animals and form family groups. They soon
become an intregal part of their human family as well . . .
hence the name, "Sprout Family Llamas."
