Savas Racing is run by a current college student, Steven Savas. On top of being your average RC enthusiast, Steve has been making his own designs for himself, but now he wants to make products for everyone else! He has been into the hobby since 2001, and now he wants to apply his future degree to the hobby. Aspiring to be a mechanical engineer since he was a kid, Steve has been designing and fabricating things for as long as he can remember.

His dad owns and runs Savas Tuning, a specialized carburetor shop. As Steve grew up, he was able to “learn the trade” so to speak when it came to fabricating things. He also picked up a keen interest in cars. When the year 2001 came around, Steve received a RC10GT from one of his uncles. And from that point forward, he became addicted.

One of the great things about RC cars and trucks are that they perform very similarly to real cars and trucks, and the cost to modify them is relatively low. With the low cost, Steve has been able to experiment and learn about how things work. Steve has taken several engineering classes, read several books and online articles about various topics, and has been applying his studies to RCs. From all of that, he has been able to come up with some great designs for RC cars and trucks, and more recently, crawlers.

Steve hopes that the crawler he designed will get his name out there, and when he graduates from college in 2010, he can gradually migrate from specializing in RCs to real cars and trucks.
