Update!
I have changed the website around, updated a few things, added a new donation page.
As for the Savas Crawler, I think the SRCproto2.0 will be put on hold. I am going to work on designing a production version of the SRCproto1.1 axles to sell.
The SRCproto1.1 is an incredible truck, and the axles are indestructible.
The axles on the prototype version have a clearance of 2" at the lowest point in the center, and 2.25" at the highest point, and still has an incredibly low center-of-gravity.
The only problem getting these into production is that they will have to be redesigned first to bring cost down. And that takes time.
Everything about Savas Racing is going to slow to a trickle pretty soon. School started today, and the load is pretty heavey.
I'm not sure when I will be able to post next, but stay tuned...

Update!
A few more competitions and several months worth of testing have gone by, and the truck has held up extremely well.
Over this period of testing, I have found the truck's strengths and weaknesses, and have been taking note of them and have applied them to the newest design.
The current truck I am running is SRCproto1.1. For the last several months, I have been designing its replacement, SRCproto2.0.
To keep up with technology and the current competitors, I have spent months of drawing, prototyping, and consulting engineers for the new truck, and I believe I have designed a winner.
The SRCproto2.0 is going to raise the bar with some revolutionary designs never seen in rock crawling, scale and 1:1.
So that is the good news. The bad news is that I am finishing up my last two years at school for my Bachelors degree in Mechanical Engineering, which in itself is great news, but the bad part is that
I will not have time to machine, test, or do any further research for a long time. I will be going to school full time for the next two years, including summers, and working when I can.
What does that mean for Savas Racing and the SRCproto2.0?
Well, I am not sure yet. The SRCproto2.0 is nearing completion of the design stage, but still has a ways to go to manufacture it. I have had some rough quotes to have some of the complex parts that I
am not able to machine with my equipment, and the total is nearing $1100. Sadly, I can't afford anything close to that. And these peices that need to be machined are what makes the truck the revolutionary SRCproto2.0.
One of my partial solutions is to cut costs by making a truck with a similar structure, but design it without all of the 2.0 features. This would be called the SRCproto1.9, and would cost roughly $800.
Another possible solution is to put up a donation page, and see how much people are willing to donate. Once I get enough money pooled up, I might consider producing a refined SRCproto1.1, sell it, and use that money to produce the 2.0 version.
Stay tuned... I'll be posting again shortly.

Update!
After a competition and weeks worth of testing, the SRC1 has proven itself to be a great truck. I have modified a couple things here and there, but over all, the truck is solid.
Presenting the SRCproto1.1:
See it in action at the ORCRC Comp #8: 6/1/08.
Stay tuned...

Update!
The SRCproto1 is complete! I will be running it in some competitions soon, so if you are local, come to the ORCRC comps and check it out!
And on a side note, I am now running the JR DS8711 Ultra Torque Servo.
Now what is next you ask?
By Fall 2008 I plan to make some potential products that I would like to run with. This website will be completely re-worked, get my eBay Store up and running, and I may add a Paypal donation thingy to the website.
I would greatly appreciate donations. I will not be able to produce to sell anything without some help.
Anyways, thank you for staying tuned! Teaser picture coming soon!

Update!
The truck ran for its first time on 12-28-07, but unfortunately has not run since. It was running on temporary parts, and with a temporary radio. Right now I am waiting for some material to come in, and just yesterday I found a Nomadio React.
If all goes well, I should have everything I need to get the truck on the rocks by the 28th or 29th of this month. The only limiting factor after that would be time to machine the final pieces.
And I guess I have to decide on a paint scheme and paint up a body.
With the amount of classes I am taking right now, an ETA on the truck is hard to predict. All I can say is to expect to see the truck complete very soon! Here is a little more on the truck...
The electronics set-up:
Nomadio React & Transceiver
Thunder Power 3-Cell Li-Po
CC BEC
Mamba Max ESC
AXI Brushless Motor
Airtronics 94358 Steering Servo (will be switching to the new JR sometime down the road)
And as a teaser for Fall 2008...
2 Hitec HS-81MG Micro Servos (for an experimental design)
Thanks for staying tuned! I will add another update with some pictures after the truck hits the rocks.

Update!
The first set of prototype axles have just been mocked up have been attached to a chassis. At this point I can say that the axles and truck look very promising and I hope to compete with it next year.
Due to school and work, I will not be able to work on the truck until Christmas break. So until then, the project will be on standby.
As a teaser, I will post this following picture:
As it says, it has 1.75" of clearance from the lowest point in the front, and 2.25" of clearance at the highest point in the rear.
Steering linkage on the TLT axles have always been in the way, so I designed steering linkage to fit under the diff and flipped the TLT axle carriers over, while still maintaining 1.75" center clearance.
Until the truck reaches or nears completion, this is the only pic I will put out.

Update!
For a few years now I have wanted to start an online business called Savas Racing, and I am just a week away from making my first prototype of the Savas Racing Crawler.
I decided on making a crawler about 8 months ago, and throughout this time period, I have been researching and watching how crawlers perform with different set-ups and designs. As of last night, I have completed my design.
What does Savas Racing have to offer for the crawling world?
I wish I could tell you, but for now, the only information I will be releasing is that I will be making a one-of-a-kind competition crawler axle. This will replace the well known and used TLT axle.
To learn more about Savas Racing products and updates, check-in every once in a while and see what were up to! Once I start testing the prototype, there are bound to be some pictures.
Note: 3 of the pictures at the top of the screen in the slideshow are parts of the crawler.
