What We Study
The math program in the 8th grade has these components:
- Algebra 1: A first course in algebra.
- Problems of the Week (POTWE): Students solve may different types of problems, most in areas outside of Algebra. The focus of assignments is on using new strategies for solving problems, and on communicating how problems are solved.
- Geometry using Geometer’s Sketchpad (GSP): Students learn to use Geometer’s Sketchpad software while exploring basic concepts of Geometry.
