I have always been interested in nutrition, probably because my father was a doctor and my
mother had been a social worker before her marriage, and I even took one nutrition course
when I was getting my M.A.T. in French at Indiana University.
As the years rolled by after college, I found myself losing more and more faith in conventional Western medicine, and finding out more and more about nutrition and natural remedies to treat myself and my family. Good results with one condition would excite me to do more studying, which would lead to more successful "treatments," which led to MORE studying and more happy outcomes, until finally in 1999 I enrolled in a formal course of nutrition study. I chose to study with the Edison Institute of Nutrition because it was based in England and in Canada, and I wanted to supplement all the knowledge I had taught myself from magazines, books, and newsletters with the European take on nutrition - quite different from the American approach. After accumulating 93 credit hours of biology, physiology, chemistry, nutrition theories and clinical nutrition practice, I completed what they call their Level Two studies and was given a Certificate in Applied Holistic Nutrition. This also has entitled me to register with the International Organization of Nutritional Consultants. Visit my Intro page to find out more about what I can do for you! |
