     I like motorcycles.

Here are some pictures of my motorcycles past and present. I currently have two motorcycles. The Harley-Davidson Electra Glide Classic and the Honda Valkyrie. They are both great bikes!

Here's a good pic of the Harley EGC

This is my Harley-Davidson Electra Glide Classic, model FLHTC. It is a 2007 with the 96 cubic inch engine and 6 speed transmission. I got it late May of 2007. This is my first season with it and I am in the process of personalizing it. Just recently I added the Stage 1 kit, consisting of a set of Supertrapp SE mufflers, K&N air filter, and the Power Commander PCIIIusb. This combination allows the bike to run with a slightly richer fuel/air mixture than H-D set at factory to meet EPA emission standards. Now the bike dynos at 71.5hp and 84.5tq. It's a fun bike. Very pretty and lots of class. I've also added Hogtunes high fidelity speakers and a bit of chrome. it also has the tour-pak that goes on the back for more storage. (not shown in picture)

Here's a picture of my Honda Valkyrie motorcycle.

My current ride - click here for bigger pic This is my 1998 Honda Valkyrie,  I bought her as a new in February 2001.  I  now have 6 seasons on her and 82K miles. I've parts, and a few sets of tires. Valkyries are called FatLadies because of the girth. of the 1520cc flat 6 engine. They are smooth, powerful, fast and reliable.  Mine is gorgeous.  It's extremely difficult for anyone to fault this motorcycle for anything, except maybe that it should be more expensive considering all you get for your money.  I do like many of the old bikes of my youth and may sometime buy an antique just to tinker with, like one or the other of the two below.

I've had some other motorcycles.  Here's a pic of me taken a few years ago on my first bike, a  1973 Kawasaki 500cc H1.  Nice huh?  And, what about that  haircut?  This motorcycle was also very fast, maybe not as reliable as the new Valkyrie, and wasn't considered a real good handler either, but it was a great first bike for me.  I had it a couple of years and sold it. Not the most reliable bike in the world.

Well, I was a little younger then.  Although I like to think I'm still just as young today.  As the song says, "...older now, but still runnin' against the wind".    I wasn't real crazy about the two stroke aspects of the Kawasaki and decided to buy a four stroke.  I bought a 1975 Yamaha XS650OHC, a very nice bike for the times. I'm still kicking myself for selling that one to my brother in law for very cheap money.  She was in perfect condition.

So, after being out of motorcycling since the early 80s I got the bug again in the Summer of 2000.  I hadn't discovered the Valkyrie yet and I was looking at all sorts of bikes.  I decided to pick up a used bike just for getting my bike legs back and then to take my time shopping for the right motorcycle for me.  In truth, the Valkyrie may have been too much motorcycle (at least in weight and cost) to just get on and ride after being off bikes for 20 years.  So, I bought this very sweet 1982 Honda Nighthawk 750 in early fall of 2000.  She was on sweet machine and I hated to let her go.  Isn't she pretty?  I had her all of October 2000 through February 2001.  Just enough time to decide I wanted the Valkyrie.

Motorcycling is my hobby, not a way to measure myself against others. This is something that I enjoy for personal reasons and I have no interest in competing against others to see who thinks they are the better rider - it's pointless and I have much more rewarding things to do with my time.
