Important Information About These Notes
These are the notes I made for myself while I was setting up my Linux From Scratch box as a desktop PC and server. The purpose was to document things that weren't documented in the books, or additional actions I took to customize the system to suit my needs. There are notes regarding package compilation and installation, locations of certain source and tarballs, etc. found in here. There are also some problem/solutions intermingled throughout this section. These pages are also rather chronological. Some things that bombed early on, may or may not work as I continued to make notes.
What This Area Is Not
This is not intended as a support base. The scope is too limited (just a few specific PCs configured as a desktop or server) to be so broadly useful. It is also not a HOWTO, or a guide to setting up your own Linux From Scratch box. If you have questions, feel free to ask, but keep in mind that much of this was developed over many months. Once one problem was solved, I moved on to another, so the response you receive may end up being 'I don't remember, but you might try...'
