Public Key Cryptography

I use PGP 5.0. The original PGP was developed by Philip R. Zimmerman as a political statement against governmental incursion into personal privacy. It has been enormously popular, despite the fact that it treaded on some questionable legal grounds.

MIT, RSA, and others have joined in an agreement to permit the free distribution of a modified version of the original PGP. It can be legally obtained and used within the US for noncommercial purposes. It is free, but not fully compatible with certain older versions. Everyone should switch to the newer version. MIT maintains a distribution site for PGP.

There is a huge amount of PGP information on the Web.

Feel free to use my public key below to encrypt mail that you send to me. This ensures that only I will be able to read them.
