Please spread the word about companies with federally regulated health plans that have decided not to extend health benefits to spouses of gay workers, saying the plans are not bound by Massachusetts’ same-sex marriage law.

General Dynamics Corp., FedEx Corp. and Caritas Christi Health Care are among the employers that do not provide married gay workers in Massachusetts with the same health benefits available to heterosexual married couples.

TELL FedEx HOW YOU FEEL ABOUT THEIR COMPANY: CONTACT FedEx HERE.

Here is a copy of what I just sent:
I would like for this email to be forwarded to your director of "social responsibility" as listed on your corporate website.

How dare you publish such a section while denying same-gendered married couples/families the same benefits and protections as families of heterosexual couples!  Especially in states as MA, where such relationships are legally recognized.

I will have you know that I intend to boycott your company and will dedicate myself to spreading the word to as many others as possible to do the same.

Please reconsider your policies of prejudice!

Jerry Ringuette

Court Denies Bid to Block Gay Rights Bill
SACRAMENTO, Calif. (AP) -- A state appeals court on Tuesday denied an effort by Christian activists to prevent a law that will grant same-sex couples nearly all the rights and responsibilities as married couples from taking effect on Jan. 1.

The court rejected the groups’ request for an emergency stay, but is allowing the legal challenges to the law itself to move forward.

The groups -- the Campaign for California Families and the Proposition 22 Legal Defense and Education Fund -- are appealing a September ruling by a Superior Court judge.

Newfoundland Legalizes Gay Marriage
The province of Newfoundland and Labrador became the seventh to approve same-sex marriage, making it legal in all provinces except New Brunswick, Prince Edward Island and Alberta, where Premier Ralph Klein has emerged as a leading opponent of gay marriage. The provincial decision comes almost two weeks after Canada's Supreme Court said that a proposed federal bill to change the definition of marriage nationwide is constitutional, clearing the way for the government to introduce the measure next month.
