Black Knight (Sold)
This machine will need a little bit of work and restoration, but not too bad. Back glass is nice, but is missing a little paint in a couple of spots. No lifting though. The play field has some wear near the right sling shot and the right magna save. Overall very nice. This machine managed to replace my Blackout... as stated as one of the only ways I planned on selling Blackout. Timing was right for both. Blackout will surely be missed still. BTW, I found out there is a second ground wire for the magnets. If your magnets do not work, make sure this ground cable is hooked up!
1/8/2005: Decided to shop this machine out for the new year. Spent two days in the basement. I pulled everything apart, gave it really good cleaning. Cleaned all the parts, put the smaller ones in the rock tumbler (vibrating model). Changed all the light bulbs, installed new drop target stickers and bumper cap stickers and installed mirror balls. Special thanks go to Nicole for her help cleaning the parts and putting the machine back together. I included a temporary updated photo -- I need one with the targets UP so you can see the stickers.
March 07 update: Voice has started to act up on this machine (keeps overplaying the voice portion like it is getting another signal from the CPU to play the voice). I reflowed the pins on the sound card, but not luck there. Based on behavior I think the 40pin interconnect needs to be rebuilt. Not looking forward to that...
Later Update: I finally got around to the 40-pin interconnect. Voice has been great since.
February 2007: I found a buyer for the machine and it has been sold. This allowed me to get my Fathom setup in the gameroom. I had a momentary scare as I decided to recap the soundboard the day my buyer was going to come and check out the machine (I had the kit, planned on doing it, just had not gotten around to it). While he was playing the machine the sound went out. Turned out I did not push one of the connectors on well and it loosened up and no sound. The sale went well, and I verified with the new buyer that everything is working well.
