The Dog and other Pets

Twiana "Pooh" Mutt was my first dog (as opposed to the many family dogs we had before).  I adopted her in Pascagoula, MS, on the Ides of March (March 15th) of 1993 at an age of 6 weeks.  I was originally going to name her after Julius Caesar's wife, but could not recall the name.  Instead I made up the name Twiana.  She is affectionately and normally called Pooh, a nickname that started when she was a puppy.  She would be so hyper when I'd get home that I would call her "Hyper Pup," which was warped into "Hi-Pooh Pup" and eventually just "Pooh."  It really has nothing to do with a humble honey loving bear.

Here is a sketch of Twiana "Pooh" Mutt that my wife did, next to a photo of Pooh... now if I can only get her to repaint some of my playfields!   :->

Oh, and there are Cats too (Patches and Weasel), a Rabbit (Jack), two Guinea pigs (Angel and Hershey), a wood turtle and fish, etc.:

Patches and Weasel, the cats, came with the wife.  The rabbit's name is Jack and is Monica's.  We had two gerbils for a couple of years, Scratches and Bites, but they are sadly deceased.  They were replaced by the guinea pigs.  The turtle's name is Woody and belongs to the family.  The fish are not named, and seem to change a bit.  :->  Our other cat, Georgie, passed on in September 2005 and will be missed.

Here are extra bonus pictures of Nicole looking for her Prince, and of Dodge -- the raccoon we rescued from the road after being hit by a car.  He was rather young, and after recovering from shock seemed to be doing ok, so he was released back into the woods -- a bit farther away from heavy traffic.
