Sunset Beach is located on the Northern part of the Oregon coast midway between Seaside and Astoria. The beach is approximately 12 miles long, and much of it is accessible by car. The wide flat beach is perfect for kitebuggying. There is a decent hardpack when the tide is out and bigfoot tires are only needed for the dunes. Watchout for cars on the beach since driving is allowed on the beach between DelRay and just south of the Shipwreck at Ft. Stevens State Park. WSW winds will give you the longest runs up and down the beach. Beach conditions vary from very light winds to dangerously strong alway be aware of your conditions.
There is lots of camping and lodging available in the area. The vibe is generally friendly and laid back at Sunset Beach. There is a great group of local buggiers, so stop by and say hi and enjoy one of the nicest beaches in the Northwest.
