1 april {of things to come}
I actually have nothing to say here except that we are still in the process of the new version of Lounging Sound. Those of you that have been listening to the show regularly may have already noticed alot of changes (including some of our new artists, show/playlist designs, advertisements, etc...) These are but a taste of things to come. ... that was so Gandalf. Anyways, please stay tuned and hang in there. Spread the word if you can - you can be our street team. Flyers, posters, word of mouth in the underground, guerilla actions, VIVA LE REVOLUTION!!!!! If you are an artist looking to be played, now is definately the time to submit your work. Our policy is still the same (only if your music fits into our criteria will we play it) - but we're really creating our playlists around the artists right now - and this definately effects how your music is heard (trust me - when your music is put into a blend of other sounds that are similar or that enhances your track, it dosen't go unnoticed). ... ok. I'm done talking. Stay tuned and stick around.

25 february {which brings us to tonights word...}
New. Alot going on. As alot of you know, we're in kahootz with Toxicant Radio. Two becoming one... etc. We're also reviewing more artists for airtime. I've been busy putting some advanced playlists together. They will be hourish long playlists, themed, and mixed in dj fashion. That is for the new site/station though. We will be staying Lounging Sound - but we will, once again, up our broadcasting capabilities and better our website with a flash version. This will be the last of the 'editions' that I've been doing. It will be based on this current version - so the colors and alot of the design elements will be similar. But... the music is most important. We are adding a new label to our playlist --> Electrik Dream (under Arabesque Distribution [london]). The first featured album will be "Cosmik Chill" and is entitled 'Red'. It is a fantastic blend of a very eastern sounding, sonic blend of psytrance/groove music that features some fantastic artists including Ultimae artists Solar Fields and Aes Dana, as well as music by Cell and dj Tajmahal (owner of the new label and mixer of the album). I've heard it many a times since recieving it - and I must say, it's quite fabulous. So, it will be added to our [dark ambience] playlist. We are also working on putting together a lounge style playlist which will have a great blend of electronica, chillout, lounge... the other side of ambient. The list will be called "Cafe del Sound" and will be a list of leftovers - but good leftovers. Far better tasting than my grandma's meatloaf (which was meat and a blend of all the leftovers from the previous week). Cafe del Sound - better than grandma's meatloaf.
[possible stimulus] has wrapped up season one and will take a two month break (or so) before opening season two. Season two will be far far better than the first... new artists, better mixes, etc. Tomorrow we'll be broadcasting a previous episode of the show at 12:00PM PST - which is like.... -8:00 GMT or something like that. I can never remember. Remember folks, 26th of the month here!
Finally, we apologize for the lack of broadcasting the final featured artist (Amethystium) show - due to technical difficulties (naturally). We also apologize for the same reasons never putting up the actual track list for the special hour of music. We will be more on the ball next time, promise :)

19 january {late update for new design}
You all know how much I love designing websites. I really like this design and hope it stays for a while. It's a very easy and professional design to go with. It's very updatable and flexible for many small changes if need be. Too, with this new design are new features coming up. I know, they're not up yet, but they will be. Right now I'm working hard on the new [possible stimulus]. It's due tomorrow. Then, I will be spending the rest of the month slowly updating the rest of the site. New artists bring new playlists and finally, FINALLY!, they will be customized and there will be a few lists to choose from. Too, we will have a new featured artist (which will be monthly & we'll be playing the featured artist on a specific date throughout that month). Will have special playlists (which will possibly be short hour+ show/lists that will feature music we don't have permission to play. Will have a [possible stimulus] page as well. The image link on the left side there will go to that page... it currently dosen't and I'm too lazy to make an 'under construction' page. The SHOP! has already been updated (see image link below [ps] link) with new designs and more items. Please visit that. That's all I can currently think of. Ciao.

10 december {new feature, new music}
So, a quick update: we have a new feature article that I wanted to put up about a month ago, but just haven't had the time to do. It's the second part of my Brian Eno series that I'm working on. I'm shooting for a change of scene next time - looking at featuring Aes Dana, Solar Fields, and/or HUVA Network (where Aes Dana meets Solar Fields (coincidentally)). Too, we've added some new music. The album.... DejaVous... ... man DejaVous creeps me out. Sorry... the Album is entitled "Neptune" and it's by Marvin Ayres - truely a fantastic album and a rare and wonderful ambient artist for our times. Also, Jourdan Laik and I want to invite you all to THE AMBIENTHOOD - See the link at the top of the page. It's an a community - or THE community for THE ambienthead. Labels, artists, reviewers, what have you - they are all there. More are joining everyday. Stay tuned for more on that. I have much updating to do every- but lack the time, currently. My apologies. ... What does light sound like?

27 november {introducing the widget!}
Many thanks to Sietse van Erve for interviewing for the first episode of [possible stimulus] - it was a success and we're working hard on our next episode which will not feature a guest but will be an exact opposite of the drone sound of last weeks show. The plan for the next show is a voyage through the melodic and, outwardly, more beautiful side of ambient music. Guaranteed listens will be music by Amethystium, Aes Dana, and Solar Fields... as for the rest, more than likely we will be including much music that we do not have permission to play. However, the show is created for Toxicant Radio and NOT lounging sound - we will just rebroadcast with permission from Toxicant Radio.
Speaking of which, I would like to thank Jourdan Laik (of Toxicant) for creating this new widget we have! It's more like a player, really. <--- It can be found no the left hand side. Widget's are something recently discovered by myself and they are the multi-tool of the future. Please visit Konfabulator.com for more information and the free download of the engine that runs the widgets. We will also, soon, post information about it in the 'support' area. I highly - HIGHLY - recommend it... PS; it's adaware/spyware/any annoying ware free! More coming soon - including, hopefully, access to our entire library - where you will be able to request a song and enque it into our playlist at random (a feature already enjoyed at Toxicant).

20 november {officially version 3}
Let it be known that the 2oth of November (my brother's d.o.b. coincidentally) is the official release date of lounging soundł. Though there are a few things to do yet, this is the set. There will be a new 'feature' artist coming within the week (at the latest). I would like to announce the new partnership of Toxicant Radio with Lounging Sound. Other 'thanks' can be found in the 'about' section below that long and ridiculous biography of the station and I. There are still many improvements yet to come for the site and the station all together - so please stay tuned...
Also, [possible stimulus] (hosted by me) can be heard the 25th of November on Toxicant Radio (at 8PM Central, 6PM Pacific, and 3AM on the 26th in Norway and France). Then, the following day, it will be broadcast on Lounging Sound throughout the day. The show will stay part of our playlist - but can be heard every Friday at the same times on Toxicant. The 25th of every month will herald a new show. If you would like to hear the show anytime, visit Toxicant's library and enque the show into the playlist!
The first show is orphax [under the northern light], with Sietse van Erve, creator of Orphax.

this is the new edition of lounging sound. we're growing bigger and decided it was time for the website and typeface/logo to match more with the theme of the music. this is all in hopes that future versions will be based around this third edition (hopefuly for good). as some of you may know, [possible stimulus] is our main show and broadcasts (first on toxicant radio) a new show once a month. i'd just like to say 'hi' to all that have helped in this project... and 'thanks' too. naturally.

amethystium {arctic sound}
In 1998, it is likely that Řystein Ramfjord (a native of Trondheim, Norway) had no idea that his summer music project and idle tinkering would make him one of the most downloaded artists on (the old) mp3.com. However, earning himself a record deal with Neurodisc Records (a sublabel of Capitol Records), he was soon boosted through the stratosphere to join the great gods of new age music - artists like Enya, Arkenstone, Deep Forest, and Enigma. 
Odonata, his first release, peaked on the official New Age Billboard charts at #5. However, music is more than numbers.
In our effort to provide better quality radio, we've recently enhanced our playlist with artists such as Testrauschen, The Spheric Lounge, Enzo Cage, Temple City, and others. We aim to offer a better and wider selection of artists with a fluid flow of chillout, ambient, and lounge music. This means that all of our playlists are now hand picked, mixed, and designed by our dj's.

[possible stimulus] w/ stailfish is a continuing journey to explore the ambient lands > the history, the future, the ancient ruins, the cavernous subterranean jungles, the deep places of space to the silent cobalt of the sea bed.
[possible stimulus] premieres on our brother station, Toxicant Radio on the 25th of every month @ 8pm Central, 6pm Pacific Standard Time. Throughout the months worth of wait in between shows, [p s] can be heard at various times throughout our broadcast. It can be enqeued at any time by a listener into the playlist on Toxicant Radio.
>> This months show (January) is entitled "Sounds of Nature {echoes of the land}" and will be an hour long peaceful passage through the natural sounds of various climates of the Earth. The official one sheet can be found [here].
DIARY OF AN AMBIENTHEAD: part three
(1.18.06) Last night, laying in bed, I had a personal mix of nature sounds and various artists in a blend. The one that I particularly thought was great was an ocean sound with Eno's "Ending/An Ascent" playing over it. Really, the blend allows it more to be in the mid or background than in the foreground, which allowed it to become one with the waves - thus forming its descriptive properties.
Another descriptive track was, I believe, "Plateux of Mirrors" (from Eno's album of the same name) mixed with rainfall.
In searching for the correlation between ambient music and it's roots, this self-made mix was a great research devise because it was musical descriptive silence - wherein it could hold countless possibilities.
This is why I want to revisit nature and the ambiance it exudes. What can I hear in the pattering of rain? Crashing of waves? Trickle of the stream?
I haven't completely connected with these yet; I know that. But I feel, when I was making the mix, that I had begun to touch this. I also feel that I am very close. The next show will be a journey for me as much as it could be for you.
