The original idea behind Lounging Sound was to broadcast music listened to on the popular interactive Winamp tv show entitled 'Lounging', hosted by J and Jammin (pka: Andrew Sturmey and Ben Dames of Bournemouth, England). The lack of the availability of the music played, coupled with the dream that I always wanted my own radio station, soon faded this idea...
A brief history of my desire to own a radio station: My name is Joseph Snodgrass. I was born in Tacoma, Washington, USA - February 10th, 1983. Through my life I have come to experience every variety of music in it's own personal way. Would it not be for my lack of respecting what's popular in music, I would be a perfect critic. I am, what the Lady Jessica dubbed, a "Music Snob". I desire originality over fad. So, where most people may like what can be heard on the radio - I desire more. I desire everything that's NOT played on the radio. Thus: create my own radio. Everyone in life should have thier own soundtrack.

Really, though not always audible, we do walk to our own beat. Most of the time it's weighed down (even completely) by the media, peer pressure, and the desire to fit in.

So, not in the desire to enforce our musical views and tastes, but in the hopes that you as a listener may find something more than the mainstream, we say the following:
The music we played was originally meant to be a lounge/chillout/ambient with occasionaly world style station. Though we still play those standards frequently, we've also added genres like jazz, indie, and the occasional pop standards (ie; Bing Crosby, Frank Sinatra, Louis Armstrong, Dean Martin, etc...). Within these are sub-genres such as sombient, organic, electronica (in ambient) & smooth, skat, nu-jazz, and fusion (within jazz). All and all we try to play easy listening music; otherwise known as Lounging Sound.

We broadcast from our studio 'The StailLounge', in Spokane, Washington. Our crew is comprised of 2 "DJ's" and 1 Techie.
