むかしむかし、 西の外れの洞窟に
mukashi mukashi nishi no hazure no doukutsu ni
Once upon a time, in a cave at the edge of the west
それはそれは恐ろしい 氷の魔物がおりましたとさ。
sore wa sore wa osoroshii, koori no mamono ga orimashita to sa.
They say that there was a terrible, terrible demon of ice.
[Scene break. Ishuca stands in the living room of his house, dismayed.]

I've been living in my old house with Blood for a week now, and

B. 「ホラ土産！」

"Look, a present!"
なんか 知らない間に 買ってくるんだ よね

Somehow he goes and buys them when I'm not looking...

Weird picture-face
[This frame contains a pun of surpassing evilness. The hiragana are handwritten comic-style, with two little arrows pointing to Blood (making a sour face) and the book (with a fuzzy teddy bear on the cover). "etzura" isn't a word -- it apparently is meant to be read as the kanji combination 画面. This should be read "gamen" (picture/screen), but the kanji mean "picture" and "face." e is a lesser known kun-reading for 画 = picture (the more common kanji for e = picture is 絵, used when Ishuca says "picture book") and 面 = face, used as a suffix -tzura, can mean "facial expression." And notice that the kanji are visual puns on each other. I feel violated now. ^-^]

[ochi = end result, punch line of a joke, or twist/denouement of a story. Not quite sure how to translate here.]
（ なんの本！！？ なんのイギが！！！？）

(... What kind of book is this!!? What's the point!!!?)
結局あの後 あの辺の本 全部読んでたん だっけ

In the end, later on, he must've read all the books on that shelf...
[If "ano ato" = "sono ato"; ano hen = that area = that shelf (in the picture, it looked like a bookshelf in Ishuca's childhood room); da kke = is it the case that, did he really?]

"O-furo o-saki ni itadakimashita"
"I humbly received the bath before you"
[ "The bath's all
yours?" Judging from the katakana,
the font & the quote marks, Blood is trying really hard to parrot some
polite phrase. I found "o-saki ni
shitsurei shimasu"
(I'm leaving now) and "o-saki ni doozo" (After you),
but nothing relating to baths. And
"itadakimasu"
comes before a meal (gochisousama deshita is after a meal). Does the humor/strangeness come from the fact
that hes messing up a standard formula for apologizing for taking a bath first,
or simply in the fact of his being so unnaturally polite? ^-^]

How many times have I told you to get in the habit of drying your head properly!
[kuse tsukenatte = kuse tsuke nasai 'tte? kuse ga tsuku (intrans) = a habit is formed. Vinf + 'tte iu = tell someone to do X. "Although I'm always telling you to..."]

["hokorobu" is so freakin' rare that I could only find it in the Kenkyusha Online Dictionary; it has three relevant meanings: (1) split at the seams; (2) open (like a flower); (3) break into a smile. I suspect all three are supposed to apply here. 綻 (TAN, hokoro) is a pretty rare kanji, too. My brain hurts.]
