This your kink? ... 'cause, if it is, damn, you look bored.
[Trying, not
very successfully, to convey that Wild is slurring or drawling every other word. If it's gonna take me two hours to translate a line, I want to
have fun with it. :-) ni shicha = ni shite wa, considering
that (it's your hobby); tsumanna = tsumarana(i) + sou da.]

W. 急ぎなさんな、 闇のものの先は永いよ
isoginasanna, yami no mono no saki wa nagai yo
Don't
hurry on my account. For a creature of
darkness, the future is long.
[isoginasanna =
isogi nasaru na, more regularly (if it's a polite imperative) isogi
nasaranaide, please don't hurry? The informal na-imperative looks pretty funny
combined with the polite nasaru. I think
Wild is teasing Blood because it doesn't look like he's hurrying to go
anywhere. If he were any more lethargic,
he'd be in a coma.]
W. ……っと、 おまえの名は?
......
tto, omae no na wa?
......

['tto
= eto, the hesitation sound?]
B. …『返り血』《ブラッド》
...
"Kaerichi" (Blood)
[Blood gives his name in kanji
(blood-spatter) but it's glossed with the usual katakana reading, Buraddo.]
W. そーか…ああ、よかった
sou ka... aa, yokatta
That
so... ah, I'm glad
一瞬、 西の黒區《こくおう》に遭っちまったかと思ったよ。
isshun, nishi no "koku-ou" ni atchimatta ka to
omotta.
For
a moment there, I thought I'd met up with the "Black Lord" of the
west.
[atchimatta =
atte shimatta; both the verb itself and the shimatta ending indicate that
meeting up with the Black Lord would not have been a Good Thing.]
[As so often
with Sugiura, fun with kanji. 黒區 are the kanji for Kauzel's name, often glossed
"Kauzeru" (though not here; here they are glossed
"koku-ou"). "kokuou"
is normally spelled 国王 and means "king."
That's appropriate, since Sugiura has said that she meant Kauzeru to be
read as "Kaiser (Caesar)," and Caesar was a family name that came to
mean emperor or lord (hence Kaiser, Tsar, etc.). However, the kanji spell "Black
Ward." The second kanji is a rare,
old form of 区,
"ward," pronounced ku or ou. I
suspect that the combination of the unfamiliar kanji and the furigana (koku-ou)
would naturally lead someone to read this as "Black King." Pretty cool!]
B. …黒區《カウゼル》?
...
Kauzel?
[Blood echoes the same kanji for Kauzel's
name back to Wild, but with the normal katakana pronunciation.]
…フン、 腕が足りんわ
...
fun, ude ga tarin wa
...
huh, not so tough after all.
[Argh! contractions!
I'm reading this as "tarinai wa." If I'm reading it right, there's a pun here. ude = (1) arms (2)
skill; "his skill isn't/wasn't sufficient" is the surface meaning,
but the second meaning could be "he doesn't have enough arms." Of course, if you've read through Vol. 24,
you know why it's significant that throughout the story, the originally
six-armed Kauzel is missing one arm that we can't account for. ^-^]

[Lit. As for lies, all rebound on the self.]
[hanekaeru would normally be spelled跳ね返える, not跳ね帰える. Possibly this isn’t
significant, since the two kanji spellings of kaeru are pretty much exact
synonyms. But the unusual spelling,
combined with the fact that there’s a line break between hane and kaette, might
be intended to force the reader to break down the compound: not “rebound,” but literally “hane kaeru =
splashes return.” Which seems like a
pretty pointed reference to Blood’s name, Kaerichi (返り血, the blood which splashes back on the one shedding it). Am I reading wayyy too much into this? ^-^]

気配が いつもと 違うような…
kehai ga itsumo to chigau you na…
Something seems off…
[Lit. “It seems like the signs are different from usual.” I’m really stuck on translating kehai, lit. “sign, indication.” It
seems to be used for anything that communicates a sense of something – a
consciousness that something is present, is changing, will happen. Usually it would be modified with a verb or a
“no,” explaining what the sign is of, but not in this case.]

[itadakemasen = can
I not receive as a favor, humble-polite form (more marked than the
neutral-polite moraemasen, which is already pretty darn formal). If excess politeness is a sign of
embarrassment or discomfort, R. is reeealllly uncomfortable throughout this
exchange.]

form irassharu instead of kuru), can I not receive that you speak to him in
order that I might receive the favor of him visiting this room.” The level of politeness
throughout this sentence is so ridiculously high, I’m
having a really hard time translating it properly…]
