This hasn't been beta-ed yet, but I think it makes more sense than the last chapter, because Blood and Wild mostly keep their rude, slang-infested mouths shut and let nice, polite Rapunzel speak. ^-^ At the end, though, when Ishuca and Blood are speaking, there are some beautiful bits of gibberish. I've brought him down

[I think "otoshita" is some sort of kanji pun. The basic meaning of this kanji is "fall into" and secondarily "lure (someone) in, ensnare," but it's never read as "otosu" (the usual kun readings are "ochiiru - fall into" and "otoshiireru - ensnare"). Basically, it's a quasi-synonym of 落, but has a different set of readings and meanings. After checking about a million dictionaries, I realized that the kanji for ensnare is being used with the furigana and okurigana normally used for the much more common "落とす - otosu - drop," which can also mean "bring down" or even more specifically "ensnare." Never seen anything quite like this before, but it's kind of cool.]

[Another case of a less common kanji being used in place a of more common reading. 解けるmeans "loosen, come untied, dissipate" but is in rare cases used as a synonym of 溶ける, meaning "melt, dissolve." Kind of like "otoshita" above, except that in this case "tokeru" is an authorized reading with the same meaning for both kanji, it's just that 解ける meaning melt in this sense is so rare that it's hardly in any dictionaries except Halpern's NJECD. に溶ける can mean to dissolve in something, like sugar melts in coffee. So, if I'm understanding correctly, the black eyes melted in the blue and colored them black. Sugiura really seems to like playing this kanji-switching game -- I'm starting to be alert to it! ]

[Apparently a reference to the time that Wild let Rapunzel go with Klaus]

[解 is the same kanji that caused me problems above when it was used as a synonym for "tokeru" meaning melt -- what is this, "Little-Known Kanji Readings for ￥50000"? This time it's being used with the acceptable but very rare kun-reading "wakaru" as a synonym for the much more common 分る (わかる). Again, 解かる= understand is so rare that it's not in any of my dictionaries except my NJECD kanji dictionary. Sugiura is just toooo clever.]

「おまえ　だけは　俺のように　道を間違えるな」

"omae dake wa ore no you ni michi wo machigaeru na"

"I just don't want you to take the wrong road as I did."

[Lit. "You only, don't choose the wrong road like mine" -- I couldn't figure out any good way to render of "omae dake" in English without sounding unnatural, which is a pity, because it's used to begin every one of Wild's wishes on this page and also in the bit where he was thinking that he had to save Rapunzel from the priests even if he couldn't save himself: "Rapuntsueru dake..."]
