The non-profit school was founded with the purpose that is serve the entire community. St. Andrew's admits students of any race, color and national or ethnic origin. |

The staff of the nursery school are degreed teachers dedicated to their profession. The combined talents of the staff are the greatest resource of the school. In addition to two teachers, each class has a music instructor to enrich learning. The school is licensed by the Health and Hospital Corporation of Marion County and is inspected on a regular basis. |

Curriculum |
The curriculum for the school year is set for the whole year before school begins each fall. The curriculum is designed to expand the horizons of young children with topics of interest to preschoolers. Some of the themes introduced include seasons, weather, community helpers, health issues, dinosaurs, senses, native American Indians, presidents, plants and transportation. Animal topics include pets, zoo, farm and wildlife. Language, history , science and math are interspersed throughout these themes. Review of colors, shapes, and numbers are daily events. St. Andrew's Lutheran Nursery School is known for its compassionate understanding in meeting the needs of pre-school aged children. Individual instruction is evident in a variety of ways including physical, intellectual, social and emotional growth. The area of strongest emphasis is social development and much of the learning is accomplished through play. The atmosphere is happy and lively - laughter is frequently heard. Each child is respected on an individual basis and the concepts of self-respect and confidence are encouraged. St. Andrew's prides itself in providing a positive initial school experience. |
