St. Andrew's Lutheran Church Women's Ministries

In the 21 st century, most church ministries include both genders. Therefore, all are welcome at each and any gathering in the Christian family of St. Andrew's.

There are two organized circles at St. Andrew's that have been traditionally devoted to women. They are Martha Circle and Mary Magdalene Circle . Each circle includes a long heritage of Bible study, prayer, and fellowship. All women of St. Andrew's are invited to participate in these circles.

Martha Circle is primarily composed of retired women who prefer to gather during the day. Martha Circle meets the third Thursday of each month from 1 – 3 pm . This circle gathers at St. Andrew's church. The events generally include an audio or video based Bible study and discussion followed by refreshments and prayer. This group often disbands during the winter months in order to stay safe in snowy weather.

Mary Magdalene Circle consists of a variety of women from different positions in life. Many are also a part of the work force and therefore the meetings take place in the evening. Mary Magdalene meets every second Monday from 7:30 – 10 pm . This circle prefers to meet in one another's home which is publicized in the weekly church bulletin. The circle has a primary focus on Bible study and generally uses guides found in the “Lutheran Women Today” magazine. In addition, refreshments, prayer partners, fellowship, and service are a vital aspect of this group. In recent years, this circle has been delighted to include women with memberships in churches other than St. Andrew's.
