.During World War II, production of consumer goods was limited. A limited quantity of electric shavers were made for use by active servicemen. Based on this ad, Sunbeam claims that its Shavemaster shaver was the choice of those who served in the war. Now that the war is over in 1945, production of shavers to the general public has resumed. They were still big and bulky, but smaller and more ergonomic models would be coming out in the next few years.
