Old Electrically Operated Shaving Apparatus.

Thanks to Phil Krumholz.

Click here for a desciption of the 1930s era Nu-Era shaver, made by Electro-Tool, Inc. of Grand Rapids, Michigan, USA.

These three photos are from a 1937 movie magazine, advertising various coloured Packard Lektro-Shavers.  Mr. Krumholz has never seen these except in black.  They even have escutcheon plates for engraved monograms.

A Schick "Colonel" model, World War II vintage.

A "Rand" shaver from Remington Rand, just sold from Mr. Krumholz's current catalogue.

Gem-Lectric".  This is a rare piece made  c.1940 by the Gem Safety Razor Co. of New York City.  It's the only one Mr. Krumholz ever saw.

While this item is outside the realm of the Electric Shaver Page, this 220 volt European metal shaving mug does look neat!

"Electro-Shave" electric blade razor.  Rare, all metal.  1930s, patented May 27, 1930 (U.S. Patent Office # 1,759, 981) by Robert F. Elzinga and Peter Elzinga of Holland, Michigan, USA.  Made by the Electro-Shave Safety Razor Co. of Grand Rapids, Michigan, USA.  This and the following example give the true meaning to the term "electric razor" before the electric shaver companies started using that term for marketing and promotion reasons.

Last, but not least, is a "Magic" from Magic Electric Razor Co. of St. Paul, Minnesota, USA.  Another rare all-metal one.  Can't find any info on this one.
