The goal of the Steel City Prowlers is to have all of it's members contribute to the overall success of the team every week of the season.  It is the belief of Prowlers management that our team can compete at the highest possible level on  a yearly basis.  Through cooperation and teamwork we will succeed!

Prowlers With Several New Faces On 2010 Squad

The 2010 Steel City Prowlers have added several new faces to their 2010 squad.  Catcher Brad Kuch, former manager of the Muckdogs, will help off-set the loss of former Prowlers catcher Matt Micholas who went to the Bridgeville Braves in the off-season.  The team also hopes to add depth to the outfield and infield positions with the addition of Keith Sainiak.  Sainiak managed the Huskies from 2005-2009.  Tim Stewart (short stop) will also bring power to the lineup as well as a solid glove in the infield.

Other newcombers include rookies Nick DiPrendi (pitcher), Justin Long (Outfield), and Matt Inman (Outfield).      


Prowlers Hold Off South Hills Comback Bid In 7th Inning Sunday April 25, 2010
The Steel City Prowlers outlast South Hills in a well played defensive struggle. Matt Inman scored on a Chris Dulavitch single in the third to put the Prowlers up 1-0. Jason Malatak knocks in the game winning run in the fourth after a Steve Safko double.

South Hills rallied to load the bases with two outs in the 7th inning. However, Tommy Sams grounds out to third baseman Brian Brill to end the game 2-1.  Prowlers starter Dan Fuchs notches his first win of the season with a complete game effort giving him an overall record of 1-0 in 2010.  Fuchs struck out 9 South Hills batters while yielding only 6 hits on the day.


Brill Sparks Prowlers Offense With 2 Out Double In 4th Sunday, April 25, 2010 Game Two
Prowlers third baseman Brian Brill knocks in the game tying run with two outs in the third inning. That sparked a 7 run third inning all with two outs to launch the Prowlers to a 11-5 victory over South Hills.  Jason Malatak and rookie Justin Long combined to hold South Hills to 5 runs on 7 hits. 


Prowlers Defeat Sharks 8-2 Sunday, May 16, 2010
The Steel City Prowlers defeated the River City Sharks at Pine Richland High School 8-2 to increase their record to 3-0 on the season. Lead off man Justin Long went 3-4 while starting pitcher Dan Fuchs held the Sharks to zero runs in four innings pitched. Rookie Nick DiPrendi pitched well in his debut on the mound only yielding 2 runs in three innings thrown.


Prowlers Sweep Sharks With 12-2 Game Two Win Sunday, May 16, 2010
Behind the strong pitching performances of Prowlers starter Nick DiPrendi and relief pitcher Jason Malatak the Prowlers boosted their overall record to 4-0 in 2010.  The two combined to hold the Sharks to two runs on four hits through seven six innings.   Outfield John Strack adds a 3-3 performance with two doubles, leadoff man Justin Long also contributed with a 4-4 performance to help vault the Prowlers into a four way tie for first place at 4-0 on the season.

The Steel City Prowlers finished the 2009 Regular Season with a 20-11 record.  The was good enough for the most wins in franchise history.


Prowlers Fun Facts:
In the Prowlers 5th season of play they have an overall record of  85-60 in 145 games for a winning percentage of .586.  There overall playoff record in those five years is 7 wins and 9 losses.
