Providing onsite computer care for metro-west "495" area of Massachusetts
Are you looking for someone you can trust to
come into your home or business? "I lost my data! My disk is dead! My files
are gone!" If you accidentally delete important files on your computer, stop using the computer immediately. Stop copying or downloading data, to prevent your lost data from being written over. Please call me immediately. If you hear sounds inside the computer that sound like "clack! clack! clack" your hard drive is probably dead and data recovery at the local level is doubtful. Next step is a often a $1000 data recovery job at a special laboratory where your disk will be disassembled and rebuilt, such as www.techfusion.com I have been very successful over the years rescuing data for my customers. These folks failed to backup their data on a regular basis. Or, they suffered a cruel injustice: they did their backups frequently, but they never checked if the backups ran properly, because they often DO NOT!! In some cases, the fate of their businesses rested on my ability to rescue their data, and I have successfully recovered lost data for several local businesses. Frankly, the odds of successful recovery are about 50/50, but it always worth taking the effort of attempting data recovery. PLEASE: GET YOUR COMPUTER TO ME AS
SOON AS POSSIBLE! The real solution is to run regular backups of your hard drive data. I can discuss with you a variety of ways to set up an effective and automatic backup system for your computer. Please call me to discuss your situation. A word to the wise: NEVER use "old fashioned" floppy diskettes for backup; the odds of these little diskettes accurately preserving data over a long period are poor. Even the old Iomega ZIP drives are not reliable (there was a class action suit against Iomega about this). Please call me so that I can set up a reliable backup system for you. Call Ed Sterling at 978-779-6058 from 9 a.m. until 10 p.m.
