If you are comparing prices for computer repair services,
remember those famous old sayings:
"You get what you pay for"
"If it sounds too good to be true,
it probably is (a bad deal)"
I charge by the hour at $75 per
hour
I invite you to compare my
rates to others in my field, and also to chain stores offering computer repair
services such as Best-Buy's Geek-Squad, and Staples in-store repair.
Best Buy's website says they charge $129 to visit you and tell you that you have
problems.
They then charge $299 to $399 to find the problems and actually fix them.
You will
find my rates to be about half those charges, and I never leave you with a virus
infected system. I come directly to you
when you want!!
My minimum charge for an onsite call is one-hour ($75).
After one hour, I charge $25 for each 20 minutes onsite.
Travel charge: beyond 10 miles, I charge $1 per minute to get to your location.
I use the Google Maps travel time from my office to your location.
Please check Google Maps "directions" to see the
estimated time for me to travel to your location.
I also do
"flat-rate"
repairs at my shop if you bring your PC to me and pick it up.
At the shop, I charge by the type of repair, not by the many hours it takes to
do that repair.
$100 for a "flat-rate" PC speed-up and tune-up, Adobe Flash player and Acrobat
reader installed, Java installed, free antivirus and free antispyware programs
installed if you wish !!
Service packs and updates applied to Microsoft Windows and Office.
$100 for "flat-rate" virus removal, I install free antivirus
and antispyware programs too.
$150 for a "flat-rate" complete Windows system reinstall using your CDROMs
(for example, if your hard drive becomes unusable)
$250 for a "flat-rate" complete Windows system reinstall without your
CDROMs,
(for example, if your hard drive becomes unusable and you lost your CDROMs).
I require proof of your Microsoft license (the sticker on your PC case).
$150 for a "data recovery" from an unreadable, corrupt or failed drive,
due to the lengthy process involved in finding and saving your data.
Many other data recovery services charge $500 to $1000 or more!!
Please note this fee is just to retrieve your data, not to rebuild your
computer.
I have heard so many sad stories
about technicians "overselling" unnecessary repairs and "required" new parts.
You can buy your own parts or I can offer quality parts that I carry with me at
regular store prices.
I will tell you where the least expensive quality parts can be found locally or
on the Net. I don't keep my sources a secret. I follow store sales each week
and will tell you where the best bargains are. If it looks like a big job, I'll
tell you honestly that a new PC might be less expensive.
