My weather equipment is a Davis 6150 Vantage Pro wireless weather station.  The anemometer is located approximately 8 feet above roof line.  The main sending unit with rain gauge, outdoor temperature and humidly sensor is located approximately 10 feet off the ground.  Although mounted higher then recommended, this location avoids the rain shadow from my house while remaining out of direct sunlight during the summer months.  At his time the rain gauge is not heated.

The weather station is connected to my Sony VIAO desktop system via the datalogger.  The data is updated every five minutes.  These web pages were created with Microsoft Frontpage 2003.  The WeatherLink software updates my web site every five minutes with current data and graphs.  Weekly, Monthly, Quarterly, Yearly, and NOAA graphs are updated every morning at 00:05am.  Updates are made via my Comcast DSL connection.  Current weather information is also sent to the Weather Underground and the to the Citizen Weather Observer Program.  This data is used many users including:

  • NWS Weather Forecast Offices
  • National Center for Environmental Prediction
  • National Ocean Service
  • National Center for Atmospheric Research
  • Kennedy Space Flight Center
  • NASA Marshall Space Flight Center

Physical Station Location:  Latitude: 44° 50' 10"N ,  Longitude: 92° 59' 23"W, Elevation: 819ft
