20/20
is considered one of the classic American powerpop bands. Formed by Oklahoma
natives Ron Flynt and Steve Allen, 20/20 released its self-titled first
album on Epic Records in the fall of 1979. The songs Yellow Pills
and Remember The Lightning recieved national airplay and they
performed these two songs on American Bandstand. 20/20 released its second
album Lookout! in 1981 which featured the song Nuclear Boy.
Their third album Sex Trap came out in 1983. The band released two additional
albums, 4 Day Tornado in 1996 and Interstate in 2000. 20/20s songs
have appeared on Rhino Records compilations: Power Pop Classics Of The
70s, and Shake It Up! -- American Power Pop II. Big Deal Records
released a series of CDs entitled Yellow Pills -- The Best Of American
Pop. 20/20 continues to play festival shows and recently toured Japan
in 2008. A new 20/20 retrospective CD/Vinyl of demos and unreleased songs
is coming out in 2009 on Radioheartbeat Records.
