After spending the entire 2001 season building the new Pontiac #04, the team finally got the chance to put the car on a race track. On October 27th, 2001, we had a great time debuting the car at Irwindale Speedway in Southern California. We started the day with zero track time on the car, so we were a little slow, and then a flat right rear tire took us out of the event on lap 56 of 75. Just the experience of "being there" (at Irwindale Speedway) was worth the trip. What a neat facilty and all the track personnel were extremely pleasant and happy to have all of us from ARP come visit. We had a great time shaking down the car and were able to make a list of the things we need to take care of before the new season starts in April 2002 at Altamont.
Thanks again to all the people who joined us and made our trip to Irwindale a success; Marc and Jeanette Kennedy, Dennis, Cindy and Nicole Piper, Don and Jill Pierce, Frank Santos, and my wonderful wife Kelly.

The team is currently rebuilding the car after a frustrating 2002 season and should be at the track during the summer of 2003.
