History:
Web Developer, Woodward Communications, 2001-2007
Developed a plan to install first-time DSL, networking and file storage to Woodward offices; acted as liaison with networking company to supervise install. Assumed role of IT manager for office, standardizing computer equipment, monitoring and servicing office network and file server, and providing training/support for personnel. Acted as client liaison on web- and print-related projects with US Dept of Transportation Federal Highway Administration (FHWA). Provided meeting and conference services for FHWA, including information booth support at conference sites and meeting coordinator and facilitator at off-site meetings. Gave informational seminars on writing for the web and 508-compliance for General Services Administration.
List Manager/Specialty Production Manager, The Heritage Foundation, 1998-2001
Evaluated existing network, DocuTech printing equipment and database systems in use in the Business Support Services Department, and recommended improvements and augmentations designed to improve final print product, simplify document process at all department levels, and speed up print production. Replaced subscription-based proprietary list-printing software with off-the-shelf software, saving thousands per year in software costs. Handled personnel managerial duties and provided document printing/assembly support in the BSS Dept. Liaison with Heritage IT Department for support of networked printers and copiers throughout the organization. Access to membership database to produce donor lists for printing.
Reproduction Manager, Coopers & Lybrand, 1992-1998
Evaluated existing network and printing systems in use in the Reproduction Department, and recommended improvements and augmentations designed to improve final print product, simplify document process at all department levels, and speed up print production. Took over management of department to concentrate on application of electronic printing systems to document production. Designed and created spreadsheet-based task accounting system, which allowed billing back to individual departments, and converted department from administrative drain to profit center. Acted as liaison with outside vendors and departments within Coopers & Lybrand to arrange print production, finishing, and delivery. Office technology support for copiers, printers, and fax machines throughout the organization. |
