Frame Page 1 - Jump to Page 2
This will turn into the frame after lots of chips fly. I had these grips laying around from an old paintball gun so I will be basing the frame design off of that.
I started the Frame by squaring up one edge of the plate and then using layout dye I traced the basic shape I will be using for the frame.

The hard part now will be figuring out how to go about performing the actual machine work. I wanted to mill out the top insides where the trigger and hammer will drop in before I cut the shape of the frame out so the vise has area on the bottom besides just the grip to hold. I first need to mill out the trigger area before I do that. I can't actually fit the plate laying flat in the small vise I have so I'm going to have to trim around the finger guard with the band saw so I can clamp that area in the vise to mill inside the guard.

After using the bandsaw to cut the area under the trigger guard so I could fit the plate in my vise I used an end mill and roughed out the trigger guard area.
After making the trigger I set the frame back up in the mill and cut the slot for it.
I left a small area for the trigger return spring to sit on.
After I bit of work with a file and the dremal this is how it looks from the bottom.
Test fitting the trigger to see how it looks. It looks a little small I may have to go back and redo it but for now it will work.
I milled out the area for the hammer and a partial channel for the transfer bar.
Here's the test fit of the hammer. I changed the design a bit, I didn't like how the hammer hit the pin at a 90 degree angle so I moved it back a bit and changed the shape. I still have to come up with a spring, although I didn't leave much room in the design of the frame.
