Next it was over to the bandsaw to rough cut the rear of the Receiver.
Then I used an end mill to trim it up a little more.
After a bit of work with the dremal and some emory cloth this is where am at.
Next I have to make the Hammer. I started with a 1/4" thick piece of cold rolled steel applied some dye, glued on my pattern, and traced the outline with a scribe.
Then it was over to the bandsaw to rough cut out the pattern.
Next I used the Mill to get a nice flat surface on the front portion of the Hammer.
After a bit of grinding, filing and shaping this is what I have so far.
Another quick coat of dye and I test fit the Hammer to see how it looks. Now I can see where I need to mill out the Receiver.
Next I made the Trigger. It was made the same why as the Hammer, a little cutting, grinding, and shaping.
Next using the Hammer and Trigger as guides I layout the area that will be milled out of the Receiver.
Using a .025" end mill I first cut the face flat where the Hammer will strike the Firing Pin.
Next I rotate the Receiver and trim out the rear for the Hammer.
Then I flip the Receiver and cut out area for the Trigger and the rest of the Hammer.
One last angle on the Receiver for the Sear end of the Trigger.
After a bit of filing and squaring up the ends of the cuts I test fit the Hammer. I have a bit more filing to go Before I can fit the Trigger.
