Here you can see the finished piece in front of the Receiver where it will screw in.
After a bit of fitting here is the Holder installed in the Receiver. I used a piece of bent drill rod to install the Holder.
Next I started the Firing Pin. I turned down the front portion of a 3/16" piece of drill rod for the tip of the Pin.
After turning the rear of the pin this is how it looks so far. I still need to get a better spring and do some final fitting but other than that its pretty much done.
Then it was back over to the mill and using a 1/2" end mill I cut out a recess for the grips.
I made a cardboard template of the grip to see how it would look and feel. Now I have to decide on what type of wood to use.
The next thing I started on was the Main Spring Housing. I started by drilling a 1/4" hole in a piece of scrap and laying out the general shape of how I wanted it. This picture shows it set up in the mill prior to cutting the angle for the top where it will mount to the receiver.
After milling the piece to match the width of the receiver I rotated the piece and cut the next angle for the front side.
One more rotation and the front side is finished.
On the back side because of the angle I started with a 1/8" end mill and cut down until I just touched the line.
After rotating the piece again I finished cutting the back side with a 1/2" end mill.
Next I cut a tab on the top that will fit in the bottom of the receiver to keep everything lined up.
Then I trimmed both sides down.
After a bit of filing here is how it sits now, it still needs to be cleaned up a bit.
Next I drilled the mounting holes.
