Edmonds Community College recently presented Steve Ward with their annual Tenuto Award in recognition of his efforts to build awareness of student jazz groups via the Jazz In The Schools radio program. Sunday July 1, 2007 will be our final Jazz In The Schools program on KSER, Everett. We've had a great two years there and we look forward to many more at a new broadcast home. Thanks for supporting our show and student jazz. We'll be back!
Attention student musicians, band directors and private instructors! Jazz in the Schools wants you! Jazz in the Schools is a weekly radio show that features recordings by high school and college jazz bands, jazz choirs and pro jazz artists from the Puget Sound area. Schools include the Garfield, Roosevelt and Mountlake Terrace high school jazz bands, Soundsation from Edmonds Community College, and local favorites Jay Thomas, Greta Matassa, Don Lanphere and the Seattle Repertory Jazz Orchestra.
