Stingrays Team News- Fall 2007
• The RAYS are honored by USA Swimming - The RAYS were honored for the second year in a row by USA Swimming as a Silver Level Club in their 2007 Club Excellence program. USA Swimming looks at over 7000 clubs across the country and assigns levels to the top clubs that provide a great service and are able to produce great swimmers. There were only 11 Clubs that reached the Gold level! This award complement the RAYS finishing 47th in the country (one of only three GA teams in the top 50) in the USA Swimming and Toyota sponsored Virtual Club Championships.
• Summer season ends on a high note! A new Olympic Trials Qualifier in Erin Reisinger…3 Zone Qualifiers in Cass Resnik, Jimmy Yoder and Alec Cohen…Multiple State Champions (SR State Girls 400 Medley Relay, Courtney Ciesielski (400 IM AG State)…A Maccabi Games Representative in Alec Cohen (who has since qualified for a trip to South America in December!) WAY TO GO RAYS!
• RAYS add a Masters Swim Group to Eagle Watch pool -We have started a Masters Swim Group this year! We are very excited about adding this program to our regular team regime. We don’t have many swimmers yet, but I know we will add to our group as we go through this season. For those of you who may be interested in swimming Masters as Eagle Watch, you may email tcuswimmer@hotmail.com or call Coach Maggie at 404-428-6359. The schedule for practice is Monday, Wednesday & Friday 5:30 – 7:00 AM
• Help RAYS by donating your old cell phones! Lower the cost of this year’s team trips by turning in your old cell phones. All proceeds will reduce the team’s overhead cost on the Stingrays Team Trips this season. A small collection box is at each practice site.
