Paragliding Instruction / Lessons
Any tandem paragliding flight that you do with me will be an instructional flight in which you will learn about paragliding. On most flights I turn the controls over for part of the flight so that you experience controlling the paraglider. However, I offer only tandem instructional flights, not courses of solo instruction leading to certification.
Tandem instructional flights are good for helping you decide if you are interested enough in paragliding to start a lesson program. Even after taking up a program of solo instruction tandem flights still provide good learning opportunities.
If you decide to take up paragliding you will need to contact instructors
offering training programs leading to your P1/P2 certifications. See the
list of local schools/instructors on
the Cascade Paragliding Club web site.
The most active schools currently serving the Portland area I believe are:
You can get good instruction from all of these schools, so check their web sites
for prices and details.
Here is what I know about differences in location and type of instruction that
may make one school a better fit for you than another:
Max ROC - teaches on coast and in the Columbia Gorge;
OTHP - also teaches powered paragliding;
PP - teaches on coast using towing;
SP - teaches in the Columbia Gorge.
