Tandem Paragliding: Flying Videos

The following videos show what it is like when flying tandem. (Click on pictures to show videos.)

I shot the first four short clips in-flight while my passengers were handling the controls. You can see how the passenger is directly in front, and a little bit lower, than me when flying.

Tip: You may want to set the video size to 200% (In Windows Media Player - View, Video Size, 200%).

My passenger, Chi, is holding the brake toggles and controlling the paraglider as we fly above Bingen, Washington (near Hood River, Oregon), with the Columbia River in the background. (600k video file)

Chi is still flying the paraglider. When she turns her head and looks at the camera you can see that she has a nice smile on her face. (700k video file)

Chi handles the controls as we descend to land at the Bingen Marina on the grass strip that you can see up ahead on the peninsula. (700k video file)

Another passenger, Joel, is at the controls as we descend to land at the Bingen Marina. Listen to our spirited conversational interchange. (600k video file)

Yet another spirited in-flight conversational interchange, this time with my friend Jim at the controls over Cliffside, Columbia River Gorge. (600k video file),

This longer video shows a flight on Pine Mountain, in the Oregon high desert. It gives a feeling of what it is like to make a paragliding flight in a big mountain environment. (5.2 meg., 3 min., video file), video courtesy of Joel Donaldson.
