Brownies & Girl Scouts

The objective of the Girl Scouts is to teach girls responsibility and leadership as well as to give service to God, Country, Community, friends and family.

Their activities consist of badges, projects and learning experiences in many different areas, e.g. arts, out-of-doors, health, computers, science, etc.

Cubs & Boy Scouts

The Scouts try to bring young boys to an awareness of their duty to God, their Country and their fellow man. Their activities include games, arts, crafts and social events. Cub Scouts are open to all boys in grades 2-5 and the meetings are held once a week after school during the school year.

For your sons ages 11 through 18, look into the scouting experience of today. Help your teenager develop self-reliance and self-esteem while working with their peers under the guidance of trained scout leaders.

Catholic Youth Organization – Grade School

The CYO has been actively functioning in the parish for several years. All parish students from 5th through 8th grades, both public and St. Jude, are invited to participate. The CYO strives to develop young people socially, spiritually, morally and culturally in the Christian principles of living. It also strives to develop the athletic and service potentials of its members. The CYO, through its parents, board members, coaches and other interested adults, provides a program of activities during the year which reflects its mission and adds fun to our youngsters’ lives. These activities include the following: dances, trips, cooking club, service activities, team sports, i.e. football, volleyball, basketball, track, baseball, and softball. In past years, adults have worked to build the athletic activities of the CYO. More recently, in addition to continuing the sports programs and social activities, the CYO is endeavoring to provide more service opportunities for its members

Children's Liturgy of the Word Program

Held on the weekends as an enrichment for our younger children. These programs do not replace the religious education classes. Joann Quinn and Donna Harle coordinate the pre-school program. Mary Ellen Glenn coordinates the K-grade 2 program.

They are held:

  • 5:00 PM Mass on Saturdays

  • 12:00 Mass on Sundays for children in grades K – 2. Children sit with their parents and are invited up to the altar, given a blessing and then go to the Church meeting room for their session.

  • 10:00 AM Mass on Sundays for pre-school children in the church meeting room.
