Stoli's Home Built MAME Arcade Cabinet

This cabinet was very much inspired by the "NEON MAME" built by Knievel. You can view all the cabinets that Knievel has built on the Build Your Own Arcade Cabinet website. Many thanks to Knievel who was very generous with his time and patiently answered all my stupid questions.

Some differences from Knievel's Neon:

Audio: Incorporated a sub-woofer amp and driver into the cabinet base. There is also a separate amp to drive the overhead speakers and I put a volume knob on the front just above the CP. Suffice it to say, the audio kicks.

Glass: I went back and forth on the glass and bezel and in the end decided to build the cabinet sans glass. It doesn't look as good or as authentic but I think it plays better as there is no glare from the glass and the monitor is a little closer to the user.

Control Panel: Long story. Explained in detail in the CP section of this site but in the end I went with the CP graphic on top of the Lucite instead of under like Knievel's.

No detailed step by step instructions for this project, just some pictures I took along the way...
