Labrador Retrievers

Meet The Gang!

Our family has been showing and raising pure bred dogs since the early 1950's. Basset Hounds were the families' first breed. Even back then, George and Louise were interested in Labradors and were introduced to them through close family friends who bred Labradors at that time. George particularly enjoyed watching the Labrador judging. Afters the scheduled show time for Basset judging,  he was often found sitting alongside the Lab ring.  During that time, both he & Louise would spent many hours with Jim and Helen Warwick (Lockerbie) watching and learning about the breed.
The family adopted their first Labrador, a wonderful yellow boy about 1962. This boy was such a big hit with the family that they decided to purchase their first two "show" Lab puppies shortly afterwards. Both of these pups earned their AKC show championship. It was about this time too, that their daughter, Claire coaxed the family to become involved with Scottish Terriers. She and Louise finished championships on a number of Scotties while both daughters, Lois, Claire,  as well as George, showed the Labradors.  For some time now, the family has concentrated solely on the wonderful easy going Labradors. George so enjoyed the Labs, that he eventually obtained his AKC judges license. Claire has followed in her dad's footsteps and now is also judging. She and her husband, Bill now carry on the Stonecrest prefix. The following pages will highlight some of the families present and past favorite four legged friends.
