You can email me at storto@msu.edu. I do receive a lot of similar queries, so first check out these answers to frequently asked questions. (if the answer is already given at this website, I may not take the time to respond to your question)
FAQ 1: Where can I purchase such and such model from this or that company?
ANSWER: If your local hobby store cannot help, I offer two avenues. One of my pages lists the addresses of manufacturers that I know. Quite often you will have to mail-order directly from them. Another page lists links to the manufacturers and distributors that are on line; you will have to check these out yourself to see what is available, as the items they carry constantly change.
FAQ 2: What color did your use for the camo scheme on that particular model?
ANSWER: I don't always remember which color I used (and I don't keep written notes). Sometimes I mix up a new color. Note that the color you see on your screen is probably not the same color that the model has in the real world. The important thing to keep in mind is that one really shouldn't worry about getting a color 100% correct anyway. Different lots might have different tints, the amount of fading or weathering a vehicle was exposed to would affect the color, and the color in a photograph will depend on the conditions of the photo (was it taken on a sunny or overcasr day; how was the picture developed, etc.).
FAQ 3: Is a kit available for this particular vehicle?
ANSWER: I find I can only give a positive answer to this question less than 30% of the time. I find it impossible to keep up with the inventory of all the companies out there. If I'm aware of a kit, I can tell you who makes it, but if I don't know it off the top of my head, I probably won't have time to research the query. Don't even ask me about scales other than 1/72 or 1/76!
FAQ 4: Can you give me detailing/painting/weathering tips?
ANSWER: Not at the moment. This is of course a big question that requires an essay answer. One of these days I might (no promise) put together a page of modelling techniques; however, I feel that there are very helpful pages on other websites already.(see the links)
FAQ 5: Do you have information on World War II?
ANSWER: No kidding, folks, I do receive such totally obscure questions quite a bit! Obviously, I have WWII info, but really need questions that can be answered in a few sentences.
SO, thank you for your consideration, fellow modelers.
