1. Panssari Salama ("FinnishBlitz") article - PanzerBlitz variant

Included is a photocopy of the article (from The Grenadier magazine) and counterset "N": homemade, computer generated, unmounted, uncut counters.

Adds early war units; some experimental Soviet tanks, Finnish and Soviet "aerosans" (propellor-driven ski-vehicles), and more. The values for some units have been edited to better match units previously published, and I have more accurate silhouettes on the counters that those in the original article.

Nine-page article plus ten new scenarios (the scenarios are copied on maize-colored paper) for battles between Finnish and Soviet units. You can check out a copy of the article here http://www.rainbownerd.com/wargaming/pbstuff.html . You will still need some German and Soviet units from your Panzerblitz game.

I added two variants of the Vickers tank that the Finns used; you can experiment with substituting these in some scenarios.

2. Desert Leader - Arab-Israeli Wars/Panzer Leader variant - new rules and scenarios.

This is a variant of Panzer Leader developed by Mr. Brian Train. I have put together an unmounted/uncut set of full color counters, and I have formatted the scenarios following the Panzerblitz scenario cards style. This set includes a copy of the article with new rules and charts.

You can check out the original article here at Mr. Train's website http://islandnet.com/~ltmurnau/lilwars.htm, which has a black and white counterset, and the scenarios are in text format.

This set includes all the new Italian units needed, plus some extra units you can experiment with. I did modify the combat values somewhat to make them compatible with other countersets I make.

There are 13 new scenarios, depicting battles involving German, Italian, Commonwealth, and American forces. Also included are Vichy French units (printed in light blue) to fight the Free French in one scenario.

This variant uses the rules, mapboards, and some counters from Avalon Hill's Arab-Israeli Wars games. You also need counters from the Panzer Leader and Panzerblitz games, as well as from the Panzer Leader 1940 variant.

4. Programmed Instruction PanzerBlitz

These are the original rules reformatted to emulate Avalon Hill's "Programmed Instruction" style, which they used in some of their games starting in the 70s.

If you want to get your Significant Other, offspring, Mother-in-Law, etc. started in playing PB, but they've been overwhelmed by the rules, have no fear!

Here are the rules are presented in six sections, starting with just the bare basics needed to re-create tank vs. tank engagements. In each following section, more rules are added (artillery, obstacles, infantry, fortifications, etc.) and a simple scenario is presented. After the fifth section, you can play the final P.I. scenario as well as some of the game's original scenarios. After the sixth section, you can play all the original scenarios.

The included scenarios are by no means historical battles and may not be perfectly balanced, but rather should be used as vehicles to absorb the rules in managable (for beginners) portions. You can actually download this article at the Yahoo PanzerBlitz Forum at http://games.groups.yahoo.com/group/panzerblitz/ (check the files section), or I can sell you a printout with the scenarios on nice maize-colored paper.

So try out these introductory rules and see how many novices you can recruit!
