Two more hands are gently folded
on a faithful mother heart.
Two more feet have ceased to wonder
through life's stormy wilderness.
One more head has ceased to aching,
One more heart has ceased to beat,
One more soul has left its casket.
Gone to heavens safe retreat.
Oft will think we hear our mother
coming through the open door.
The will tearful remember mother
will come in no more.
All her earthly labors over, gone
where cares no more oppress.
Where the wicked cease from troubling
and the weary are at rest.
