  • MALL - The youth went shopping at the River Center Mall while Karen and George registered.

  • We went to morning Bible Study in the Alamodome.
  • In the afternoon, we took advantage of some learning opportunities and spent time in the interaction center.  At the interaction center, we put up some prayers on the wall and roped some steers.

Cross Over!
  • St. Tim's Crew got up early to go to the JUMP  communion  service. We started the morning by Sprinkling Sunshine on each other.  Ask one of the crew to show you the special handshake we learned.
  • Our final Bible Study was held in the Alamodome and reality was beginning to set in that this was the last full day of the Gathering.
  • In the afternoon, we went to the Augsburg Fortress store in the Interaction Center to do some shopping.
  • Some of the crew found a Dakota Road workshop and spread the word via cell phone to the rest of us.  We stayed for the workshop Terrible Great Game where we experienced a city under siege.  Some of us were taken off to a concentration camp and others experienced indoctrination to become a sniper.  One of us did not survive the ethnic cleansing. It was a very small taste of what war was like in Bosnia and is like around the world.  At the end of the role play we discussed the Christian’s role in global conflict.
  • We got to meet Bishop Claire Burkat during a SEPA Synod reception.  It was nice to visit with the 1st week attendees from our synod.
  • The day ended with a Fiesta and Fireworks!

Vaya Con Dios (Go with God)
  • We went to the Alamodome for Worship.
  • The atmosphere was different as we gathered for the closing worship.
  • We did not want this week to end but were looking forward to worshiping God with the 15,000 Week One participants and the thousands of volunteers who made the Gathering possible.
  • Worship began with a procession of paper doves, followed by the cross, flames and a bible.
  • The entire service was bilingual and the singing of Orando was a moving experience.
  • We received a bracelet after we communed as a momento of our Gathering experience.
  • After Worship, we ate at Whataburger ("What, a burger?) and did some final errands in San Antonio before going back to the Wyndham St. Anthony to pack.
