Two items came up that reminded my girlfriend and myself of the 1989-1994 period in our lives.
The first and most important item was that a friends child was injured and went to Fairfax Hospital, when I mentioned this to my girlfriend she informed me of the times she went to that hospital as a result of beatings incurred from her husband. I asked her whether
Mr. Brent had been aware of these incidents. She informed me that he had been informed that there should have been additional police reports and hospital records, his response had been that he would look into it. I had talked to the Social Services counselors at Northwest Center, I was not aware of the beatings incidents as they were before my time. I asked my girlfriend what happened to the records, she responded that her husband had destroyed them.
The second item was the result of my messing around today with an Internet search engine that I had not used in a while. As a lark I entered
Strode Brent and up popped this article,
"Leslie is Too Liberal for Virginia" which contained the following quote:
Leslie Byrne won her first political office thanks to now-congressman Tom Davis. Many years back, the 38th District had a conservative Republican in office by the name of Gwen Cody. Davis encouraged his buddy, Strode Brent, a liberal Republican, to challenge Cody in a primary. Davis brought out all his liberal supporters and Brent defeated Cody by just a couple of votes.
Brent went on to lose against the Democrat Leslie Byrne, who was a liberal activist and a member of the liberal League of Women Voters.
This reminded me of what a
real-estate agent had told us, that Mr. Brent was running for a political office. My girlfriend was obviously a woman and then we had the husbands attorney,
Mr. J. Michael Sharman (
Commonwealth Commentary Newsletter &
Christian Worldview Network). These sites identify an evangelical religious agenda that supports the husbands attorneys demand that my girlfriend should go back for more abuse, a political agenda and a possible validation of the
real-estate agent's claim that my girlfriends attorney,
Mr. Brent also had a political agenda - he may have had a conflict of interest or worse sabotaged their clients case. Of course according to the Virginia State Bar
Avoidance of the Strategy Issue - just try to obtain a "civil remedy" after one of these "members" consume your time and assets.
The question is whether the
"Strode Brent" in this article is the same as our
A. Strode Brent ?
This is a dead horse, a corrupt legal system that condones unethical behavior, buyouts, religious zealots that claim to follow the teachings of Christ yet bear false witness and condone abuse by their actions.
Never one to let things lie I was curious as to the
type of political race Ms. Leslie Byrne had with Mr. Brent, maybe she could help my girlfriend....
