These attorneys stated that they would represent Suzie#0's divorce, after accepting the job the first one claimed that they were going to corporate law but referred her to another attorney. This second attorney said later that his caseload was too heavy and did not bother referring her. The second attorney appeared to be good, getting me out of the criminal charges for the tape using the evidence that Suzie#0 had on her husband, the charges were immediately dropped. Soon after the tape charges were resolved this attorney dropped her leaving a vacuum. It was during the period that she had no attorney that she lost visitation of her minor child. Maybe Suzie#0 could have forced these attorneys to represent her but she was at their mercy, human nature being what it is they may have failed with intent - given our experiences I cannot help but wonder what difference this would make. Regardless it was during this in between period that her spouse denied her visitation to the child, lied to the courts about custody and we had a shouting match with an idiot Judge, Judge Valentine that did not listen.

Mr. Alveine G. Halago Suzie#0 obtained with the help of one of her foster parents - she thought she had a winner until this attorney deserted with a claim that they had to go into corporate law. On whim they drop their clients rather than processing them out. But things happen and this attorney was ethical in that he recommended Mr. Mason who he believed would take over the case.

Mr. Mason seemed good also, heck his office was in my fathers old office building. In the meantime the phone call issue had erupted and the husbands tapes were used "intentional infliction of emotional distress", the culmination of months of the husband stalking, assaults and threats. Mr. Mason used evidence Suzie#0 had to support her divorce issue, he showed pictures of Suzie#0's husband in Suzie#0's clothes in full drag the prosecutor dropped the action immediately. I had thought that Mr. Mason would have the courts drop the charge because the husband had waited nearly two weeks to call the police. We knew this because the day that I called him back, Suzie#0 had spent nearly two hours begging for a visitation, my roommate and myself listened to some of the tirade that the husband was spewing a combination of preaching and threats against both Suzie#0 and her child. The visitation Suzie#0 wanted was for her Childs birthday the end of August, the charge was made in September and if this had been noted at this time the statute of limitations would have stopped the civil suit cold, the civil suit that was started when the divorce was finalized and the crusading attorney had not destroyed Suzie#0. When Mr. Mason dropped Suzie#0, he did not refer her to another attorney, it was during this period that resulted in the Judge Valentine incident and cost her both custody and visitation rights.

Mr. A. Strode Brent Jr. never contacted Mr. Mason on the strategy issue, for their notes or state that the case was left in. I had been adamant in stressing to Mr. Mason that the police were called nearly two weeks after the alleged phone calls and that I had not made any more calls (the stalking stopped), I believed that would be his strategy, Mr. Mason had a better strategy. I still remember the feeling I/we had when Mr. A. Strode Brent Jr. walked out of his office as Suzie#0 and myself were discussing the date, I remember looking at her and saying "what the heck", Mr. A. Strode Brent Jr. did not even note our questioning the date - statute of limitations, which resulted in two more years and thousands of dollars.

Suzie#0 had these attorneys for about a year, the first one claimed that they were changing to corporate law and did not have time for her case, he did the honorable thing and referred Suzie#0 to an associate. This associate stopped the criminal charges against me for the "bad" phone tape by presenting evidence for the divorce, pictures of the husband dressed and posing as a woman. Then this attorney claimed that he was too busy for Suzie#0's case also, which was a shame since he probably had the skill. This second attorney did not refer Suzie#0 to another attorney and in this left Suzie#0 undefended in a court room with one liar and a stupid judge that did not know what he had claimed he was listening for. Try telling a judge that he had not heard what he had stated he was looking for. That although the vocal rendition of the tape was intended to disuade a stalker and abuser, the content was accurate as I had listed on the tape upsetting behaviours of the husband, including the observed abuse of the child.
