Family Trip to Yellowstone
DAY 1: Salem to John Day Oregon
Prineville Oregon
We started out from
Salem at 12:00 noon (Mark had flown back home from a business trip the
night before). We stopped for lunch at Jack-in-the-Box then headed out
over Santiam Pass passing the very low Detroit Lake. We arrived at
Prineville Oregon at around 3:30 PM. We stopped at a wonderful
overlook looking at the town. We continued on US-26 going by the John
Day Fossil Beds before stopping of the night at a beautiful State
campground just outside of John Day itself.
