Idaho Falls

We again got up early
to hit the road by 8 am. We headed up I-15 to Idaho Falls. We stopped
by the falls in the middle of town. Flame had a great time. She chased
two squirrels up a tree. Then about a minute later something fell from
the sky hitting Flame on the head and startling me. About 2 seconds
later we realized it was one of the squirrels. The stunned squirrel
then darted away, with his friend before Flame figured out what had
happened. She was still happy.

From Idaho Falls we
headed east on US-20 to Jackson Wyoming where we stopped for
lunch. What a neat and very touristy town. We would like to go back
there someday to explore some more, but we decided to head north into
the Grand Tetons NP.

We entered the Grand
Tetons at around 1:00 PM. We paid our $20 entrance fee (it covers both
this and Yellowstone NP). It was rainy but I took some pictures
anyway. We had learned that the Tetons were named by French Trappers.
Apparently they were very lonely so they looked at the mountains and
called them tres titons, or the 3 breasts. The Frenchmen are probably
laughing at us when we adopted the name Grand Tetons. The mountains
are beautiful. They just seem to jut up out of no where.

We continued to head
north and entered Yellowstone NP via the south entrance at 3:30 PM. We
stopped at the Grant Visitors center. We watched a video about the
great Yellowstone fire of 1988. Yellowstone is recovering from the
fire very well albeit slowly. We then went to out campsite at the
Fishing Bridge RV Park near Yellowstone Lake. There we ate dinner and
listened to the thunder showers come through.
