Japan Experiences
Kyoto/Osaka
|
Japan's
second largest city is Osaka. The largest castle in Japan is Osaka
Castle, seen here through a cherry tree. This castle had been
destroyed and rebuilt several times over its history. Osaka is a mush
more comfortable city then busy Tokyo. However, the subways and trains
are still the only means of getting around. (Photos on the Kavanagh
Transit Website). Kyoto is the cultural capitol of Japan. It was the
political capitol up until the mid-1800's when it was moved to Tokyo.
During World War II the US left Kyoto alone, thus Kyoto still retains
many of it historical sites.
The family visited Osaka
and Kyoto again in 2003. See Day 6 & Day
7 for more photos
