In
1998, Japan hosted the World Winter Olympics in Nagano. Nagano is about
1.5 hours from Tokyo by Shinkansen (bullet
train). This train line was opened just 6 months before the Olympics,
otherwise the same trip was over 3 hours! The photo seen here is inside
the train station. I managed to get to Nagano on the closing day of the
Olympics. I did not see any events, but did see a medal ceremony and the
craziness of sports fans!
